Aladdin Temp-Rite was recently featured on Manufacturing Marvels, the program that spotlights excellence in American manufacturing. The segment was filmed at our 350,000-square-foot headquarters and manufacturing facility in Hendersonville, Tennessee, the place where every Aladdin Temp-Rite meal delivery system is designed, engineered, and built.

The feature is a great example of our process, but the story behind it spans more than a century. This is the longer version: how a name that once lit American homes became the recognized leader in healthcare meal delivery.

A century-old American name

For generations, the Aladdin name has been part of everyday American life. It started with the oil lamps that lit many homes, and it carried into the lunchboxes that families recognized for decades. The thread running through all of it has always been the same: durable, well-made products built to be relied on.

The modern Aladdin Temp-Rite story has a clear beginning. In 1968, Aladdin introduced an insulated tray that kept hot foods hot and cold foods cold; a genuine breakthrough for hospital dining.

It's also central to our identity as an American manufacturer: we're the only company in our industry to design, engineer, and manufacture our products exclusively in the United States, with roughly 90% of Aladdin products made right here in Tennessee.
